Looking for a unique vacation?Homosassa Scalloping is as fun as it gets and rewarding, after all, you get to eat what you catch! We specialize in small groups for our scalloping trips--no big production line tours here. From our convenient, Homosassa waterfront location right on the Homosassa River, we schedule frequent trips during scalloping season for small, friendly groups of 2 to 6 passengers. This way, your captain can give you each personal attention and guidance while you are in the warm, shallow waters of the Gulf of Mexico in Homosassa. Most scallops are caught in just 3 feet of water.Scalloping in the clear waters off the coast of Homosassa is easy for beginners and great fun for the whole family. Captain Russ knows all the special spots to find the best scallops for his passengers. Once at our secret scallop location, your captain will show you how to snorkel and then spot and retrieve the scallops from the sand or seagrass on the floor of the Gulf of Mexico.Regulations limit 2 gallons per person or 10 gallons per boat, whichever is least. This amount applies to the scallops in their shells. Since we keep our scalloping charters limited to small groups, you're able to retrieve and keep more scallops for your group.Native Sun provides snorkeling gear (or you can bring your own if you'd like) and the mesh bags needed to hold the scallops as you snorkel. A cooler with ice stands waiting on the boat as you bring in your catch. We also provide the required state salt water fishing licenses. When we get back to shore, we'll even help you clean your scallops!
